#美联储重启降息步伐 Some people say that rolling positions is the most profitable way to play in crypto, but I think it's the truest test of human nature.

Making money and getting liquidated are often just one impulsive decision apart.

I've seen quite a few people play contracts with a million in principal and end up leaving empty-handed. It's not that their skills weren't good enough—it was their mindset that collapsed first: greedy when winning, gambling when losing, stubbornly holding on even when the trend changed.

The logic behind rolling positions is actually very simple:

Identify a one-way market, use high leverage and small positions to reinvest repeatedly, catch the trend wave but don’t stay in for the whole ride.

This is my own strategy:

Start with $300, only open $10 per trade, crank leverage up to 100x. When it rises by 1%, take profit and withdraw half, keep the rest rolling. In theory, if you win 11 times in a row, $10 can turn into $10,000.

But in reality—most people die on the 3rd try.

Why?

Because when they win, they can’t bear to leave, always thinking there’s more to gain; when they lose, they refuse to accept it and want to win it back with the next trade; or they didn’t even read the trend properly and rushed in.

I set two hard rules for myself:

Cut losses immediately when wrong, and if I lose 20 times in a row, I must stop and take a break; if I make $5,000, I must withdraw, no turning back.

There was a period last year when I watched the market for four whole months before taking action. Started with $500, caught a one-way trend, rolled it up to $500,000 and cashed out in 3 days. It wasn’t luck—it was waiting for certainty.

Can you still roll positions now?

Ask yourself three questions first:

Is the volatility high enough? Is the trend clear enough? Can you just take the middle part and give up the head and tail of the move?

If the answers aren’t clear, don’t rush in.

The abyss is always there, but so is the ladder. Which path you take is up to you.

A broken mindset is the real culprit behind liquidation; no matter how good your skills are, they can’t save a greedy person.

To put it bluntly, mindset is the hardest part—people can lose even a million in principal.

In theory, hitting 11 wins in a row could roll up to 10,000, but in reality, it's already gone by the third time... This is our DeFi life.

Dying on the 3rd try, this detail is really spot-on. That's exactly me, haha.

Sounds reasonable, but how many people can really make it to the 11th time? Mindset is easier said than done.
