Pi Network has released a new feature on its testnet. It has launched the first version of its Token Launchpad as a Pi App. This release was shared during Pi Day 2026. For now, it works with a test token, not real assets. The goal is simple. Pi wants users, called Pioneers, to learn how token launches work

So, it introduced the feature on the testnet first. Users can access the launchpad through the Pi Browser. They can explore how projects launch tokens and how the system works. At the same time, the team said this is just the beginning. The product will change and improve before it reaches mainnet.

Focus on Utility, Not Just Fundraising

Unlike many crypto launchpads, Pi Network is taking a different approach. Here, tokens are not mainly for raising money. Developers design these tokens for use within real apps. For example, users can use tokens for payments, rewards, or access inside an application. They can also support governance features.

Because of this, projects must already have a working product. They cannot just launch a token without real use. Another key point is how funds are handled. The Pi collected during a launch does not go directly to the project. Instead, it goes into a liquidity pool. This helps create stable trading conditions from the start. This model aims to reduce hype and focus on real value.

Helps Projects Grow and Find Users

The launchpad also solves a common problem for startups. Many new apps struggle to find users. This is called the “cold start” problem. With the Pi Launchpad, projects can attract users early. Tokens become a tool to bring people into the app. Users can try the product, give feedback and stay engaged

This helps projects improve faster. While developers can test ideas in a real environment. They can see what works and what does not. Because of this, the system creates a loop. Projects grow, users interact, and both sides learn.

What Pioneers Can Do?

From the user side, the launchpad offers new opportunities. Pi Network’s Pioneers can join different projects. They can access tokens during launches and use them inside apps. This is different from traditional apps. In Web2, users only use a product

Here, they also hold part of the system. This gives users more involvement. They can judge whether a project is useful or not. It also creates more transparency. Projects must deliver real value to keep users engaged.

Testnet Phase Will Keep Changing

Right now, everything is still in testing. The Pi Network team has made it clear. The launchpad may change often during this phase. Steps, features and timelines may shift quickly

Some parts may feel incomplete or different each time users visit. However, this is expected. The goal is to collect feedback and improve the system. Once testing is done, a stable version will move to the mainnet.

A Step Toward a Bigger Ecosystem

This launch shows Pi Network’s bigger plan. It wants to build a full ecosystem of apps and services. Tokens will play a key role in that system. At the same time, the launchpad may support future DEX activity

By creating useful tokens, it can improve trading quality. For now, the feature is still early. But it gives a clear signal. Pi Network is moving beyond mining and building tools for real-world use.
