#美联储重启降息步伐 What should you do if you’re stuck in a losing position? These tips might help

What’s the biggest fear in contract trading? Chasing highs and getting stuck. But panicking won’t help—you need a game plan.

**First—Cut Losses Promptly**
Bought at the top and see the momentum shifting? Don’t tough it out. Admit the loss and exit decisively. As long as you have capital left, you have a chance to recover. Many people can’t bear to take a small loss and end up digging themselves in deeper.

**Second—Hedging**
Is your position too far underwater to cut? Try opening a reverse position. When the price pulls back further or rebounds, close out the profitable side first. This works well in a choppy market, but avoid it in a trending market—you could get hit on both sides.

**Third—Sell High, Buy Low**
If the market is swinging within a range and you have time to watch the screen, you can try scalping. Sell at highs, buy back at lows, and use short-term profits to gradually lower your average cost. But this requires good market instincts—beginners should be cautious.

**Fourth—Buy the Dip**
This is the riskiest move. Only use it if you’re sure a bottom is forming and the downtrend is nearly over. Don’t rush to add just because you see a pullback; you’ll end up digging yourself deeper, not averaging down. Only add as much as you can afford, and don’t use all your capital at once.

Ultimately, no matter how many ways there are to get unstuck, nothing beats good risk management from the start. $BTC $ETH These major coins are already volatile enough—don’t let a single mistake ruin your whole account.

To be honest, cutting losses is the hardest part. Reluctant to let go of that little bit of money, I end up losing even more.

Sounds nice, but the key is still to protect your principal. My hard-learned lesson is about averaging up—in one go, I went all-in.

actually the math doesn't check out here... averaging down on a losing position is just statistically decorating a death spiral. saw this exact tokenomics pattern back in 2021.

Stop-loss is really the hardest. Every time I think, "Just wait a little longer and I'll break even," but in the end, my account is gone.

Sounds nice, but it comes down to just two words: accept loss. Most people fail because they can't bear to take that little loss.
