But honestly, most AI I encounter still feel like talking to someone knowledgeable but “without a past”—it remembers rules but not you; it can respond but rarely resonates.

This reminds me of a game I played before, where NPC lines always looped the same few phrases. I thought, if they could remember the last time I visited, remember my choices, or even sense that I was feeling down today, that would be so interesting. Unexpectedly, this seemingly distant expectation is quietly being realized by some projects. For example, recently I noticed Ephyra, which doesn’t stop at making AI “respond fluently,” but tries to inject memory and emotional dimensions into virtual characters.
